Competitor Information

Parking and Shuttle Bus

There will be no spectator or competitor parking in the Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trails Race Village (Friday, Saturday and Sunday), which will be taken over by the exhibitors and UCI trade team areas. Parking is located 1500mtrs from the race village. Read more here.

 

The Route

The route is a clover leaf design which passes through the start/finish area three times, making it an interesting race for both competitors and spectators alike. The course will be a mixture of wide forest roads, trail centre single track and natural technical features.

Registration / Fees

Registration is located at the Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trail Centre. The cost to enter the event is €35 per person before the 1st of May 2014. The cost increases to €40 per person after the 1st of May 2014. Online entry closes at 13.00 on the 12th of June 2014. You must pre register online, no entries will be taken on the day.

 

Start / Finish

The start and finish of all events is the Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trail Centre. Please ensure you are at the start area at least 20 minutes before your start time.

 

Feed / Technical Zones

There are six feed zones which double as technical zones. Riders may not receive assistance outsider the marked area. There will be neutral feed available at these zones with water, energy drink and snacks available. Riders wishing to have bottles delivered to remote feed zones must clearly mark their bottle and deposit it in the correct box between 08.00 and 09.45 on the morning of event. The location of each feed / tech zone will be sign posted from the Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trail Centre.

Timing / Time Limit

A dedicated timing company will be responsible for the timing of the event. A cut off time will be in place for competitors in the Expert, Masters, Vets and Classic Vets categories. It will not be possible to start the final loop of the circuit 60 minutes after the first rider in your category finishes the course.

 

Anti-Doping Control

The Irish Sports Council will carry out anti-doping controls after the European Marathon Championship main events.

Bike wash: Located at the Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trail Centre

Bike Shop: Trailriders bike shop will be open daily from 10am to 5pm for sales and servicing, located at the Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trail Centre.

Showers: Located at the Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trail Centre

Toilets: Located at the Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trail Centre. Additional toilets will be located in the car park.

Catering: Multiple catering providers will be present to offer a selection of cooked meals, sandwiches, snack and hot and cold drinks. Located at the Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trail Centre

Shops: The nearest shops are located in Kilfinane.
